ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES
FRESHMAN ADMISSIONS
A. U.S. CITIZENS
U.S. citizens who wish to be admitted in FSU Panama must contact the office of International Programs (www.international.fsu.edu) unless one of the following exceptions applies:

1. They have lived in Panama for a full twelve months or longer prior to application.

2. They are citizens or legal residents of the Republic of Panama
-
3. They have close family members (i.e. spouse, parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle) who are citizens or legal residents of Panama and are currently living in Panama.

4. They are non-traditional students and/or are 26 years or older by the beginning of the term for which they are seeking admission.

5. They are military dependents as determined by the Office of Veteran Affairs at Florida State University.
All freshman applicants must:

Submit the FSU application and $30.00 application fee. Please do not apply online. Print the application provided in PDF, fill out and send to the following postal address:

Submit all official high school and post-secondary transcripts (dual enrollment).

Submit a copy of their high school diploma

Submit official ACT (#0734) and/or SAT (#5219) results of at least 24 (composite) on the ACT or 1620 (critical reading, math, and writing) on the SAT.

In addition to the applicant's overall composite on the ACT or total score on the SAT, the following minimum subscores are required:

Writing - 21 on the ACT English or 21 on the ACT E/W or 500 on the SAT writing;

Math - 21 on the ACT math or 500 on the SAT math
-
Reading - 22 on the ACT reading or 500 on the SAT critical reading
-
Submit the residency statement.
Please note that letters of recommendation are not required and will not be used in the decision-making process.
B. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
To apply for freshman admission, international applicants must:

Submit the International Application for Admission and the application fee of thirty dollars ($30.00). Please do not apply online. Print the application provided in PDF, fill out and send to the following postal address:

Submit official or certified copies of all academic records from secondary school (in the native language, accompanied by certified English translations).

Submit a copy of their high school diploma.

Submit official ACT and/or SAT results of at least 24 (composite) on the ACT or 1620 (critical reading, math, and writing) on the SAT.

FSU Panama offers the institutional, paper-based TOEFL several times a year. For more information contact the office of English Language Program in the FSU Panama.

TRANSFER ADMISSIONS APPLICATION AND PROCEDURES

Meet the State of Florida's foreign language admission requirement.

Freshman and Sophmore applicant's (12-59 semester hours of transferable credit as determined by the Office of Admissions) must:

Transfer Credit
Transfer credit is awarded for coursework completed at an accredited (recognized) institution of higher learning. No credit is awarded for technical, vocational, or below-college-level coursework, or courses completed with grades below "D-." An official course-by-course evaluation is required for all academic records from non-U.S. institutions. We recommend the evaluation be done by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (www.naces.org/) or the International Education Credential Services provided by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (www.aacrao.org/).
