Admission Requirements & Procedures

Application deadlines for the 2016-2017 Academic Year:

  • Fall 2016: July 15th, 2016
  • Spring 2017: October 28th, 2016
  • Summer 2017: April 21st, 2017

FRESHMAN APPLICANTS

Freshman applicants can apply online through our application system. They must submit the following documents along with their application:

  • Official transcripts of the last four years of high school

Note: If the original transcripts are issued in a language other than English they must be accompanied by an official English translation.

  • Copy of high school diploma
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores

a) Applicants can take the paper-based Institutional TOEFL at our English Language Program (ELP)

b) Applicants who take the IBT need to send their scores directly to FSU (code 5203).

c) Citizens of countries where the official language is English are exempt from taking the TOEFL or IELTS, but must attach a copy of their passport to their application.

  • Official SAT or ACT scores

a) Applicants who have taken either the SAT or ACT at the time of their application must request their test scores to be sent directly to FSU (SAT code is 5219 and ACT is 0734).

b) Applicants who have not taken the SAT or ACT at the time of their application may enroll at FSU-Panama, but must take either one of these exams during their first or second semester of enrollment.

TRANSFER APPLICANTS

In addition to the freshman admission requirements, transfer applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Official transcripts from each college and/or university attended (if in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by a certified English translation).
  • Official course-by-course evaluation of all academic records from each non-U.S. college and/or university attended (no transfer credit from non-U.S. universities will be awarded unless an evaluation has been submitted). We recommend using any of the evaluating agencies listed in www.naces.org or ies.aacrao.org.

* Letters of recommendation are not required and will not be taken into consideration in the evaluation process.

 The undergraduate application has a fee of 100.00 US Dollars which must be paid to the university within three weeks of the date of the application.

U.S. CITIZENS

U.S. citizens who wish to be admitted in FSU Panama must contact the office of International Programs (www.international.fsu.edu) unless one of the following exceptions applies:

  1. They have lived in Panama for a full twelve months or longer prior to application.
  2. They are citizens or legal residents of the Republic of Panama
  3. They have close family members (i.e. spouse, parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle) who are citizens or legal residents of Panama and are currently living in Panama.
  4. They are non-traditional students and/or are 26 years or older by the beginning of the term for which they are seeking admission.
  5. They are military dependents as determined by the Office of Veteran Affairs at Florida State University.
